Description

COLOMBO ASHARA 1441H

LIMITED EDITION COIN – 24K Gold Plated

Al Fatemi Mint is proud to introduce an exquisite commemorative limited edition Proof coin, COLOMBO ASHARA 1441H.
This release commemorates the historical Ashara Mubaraka of 1441H congregation held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Design and Religious Significance

The obverse is a detailed 3 dimensional rendering of the Hussaini Masjid in Colombo, Sri Lanka where the unique sermons were held by His Holiness Dr. Syedna Aali Qadr Muffaddal Saifuddin (TUS) during the Ashara Mubaraka congregation of 1441H.  You will also find a rendering of the Sri Lanka Flag flying atop of the mosque representing the citizens of Sri Lanka that so graciously hosted the event.

On the Reverse is a calligraphic rendering of the official logo representing the once in a lifetime event. The calligraphic rendering in the center says the word’s “Ya Hussain” with a flag created out of the word “Allah”.

On the left, is a flag holding the words “Barakat majalis al imam al hussain” with the year and location of the event stated, “Serendip, 1441H”.

It should be noted that Serendip is the Arabic name for the island of Sri Lanka which was used since the 4th century. Serendip, is best known to speakers of English through the word serendipity, invented in the 18th century by the English man of letters Horace Walpole on the inspiration of a Persian fairy tale, “The Three Princes of Serendip,” whose heroes often made discoveries by chance.

At the very bottom of the reverse can be seen a short arabic line eloquently announcing the central theme of this historical event, a congregation for the matam of Hussain in Colombo 1441h.
