Description

The Ziyarat Collection

KUFA

LIMITED EDITION COIN – 0.925 FINE SILVER

As the third release in the Ziyarat Collection of coins, Al Fatemi Mint is proud to introduce an exquisite commemorative limited edition Proof coin, KUFA.

This release commemorates KUFA, the place of Moula Ali Ibn Abi Talib’s (AS) shahadat.

Design and Religious Significance

On the obverse side are renderings of the two distinct Minarahs found in Masjid Al Azam bil Kufa. Masjid Al Azam bil Kufa, or the Great Mosque of Kufa was built in the 7th Century and was later renovated and restored to the glorious site it is today by 52nd Dai-Al-Fatemi Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA) in 2010. The two distinctly different minarahs were chosen to display the stark difference in architecture that can be seen in the masjid.

On the reverse side, Al Fatemi Mint recreated a miniature replica of the marble and ruby plate (Mudawarrah) placed by Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA) in the kibla of the masjid where Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS) was fatally struck. The calligraphy reads the famous words uttered by Ali (AS) “Fuzto wa rab al kaba”, “By the Rab of Kaaba, I have succeeded”. You can find below some pictures of the Mehrab as it stands today and Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (AS) with the marble plate (Mudawarrah).
The marble used during the renovation is the exact same type of marble used in Masjid Al Haram.

Exclusivity

With a strict limited mintage of only 2500 coins world wide, these coins will soon be sought after collector items in the years to come. Pre-Order registration for this timeless piece of art is now open with its anticipated release date of July 30th 2014. Coins will be sold on a first come basis in sequential order until quantities last. Once the limited quantity of coins have been minted, the dies will be retired never to be minted again.
